You can mount your Sqish on a wall, pole, or tripod stand,
or as illustrated in the manual
The Sqish must have a clear line of sight towards approx 30 degrees east of south, with approx 30 degrees elevation to receive Astra 2 (Sky/Freesat). Use the compass to check the aspect. If there are any obstructions use the inclinometer to check clearance.
Obtain the skew angle for your area and set the angle on the side of the Sqish using the angle finder as shown. Tighten skew bolts.
Set the elevation as per the angle on the chart on the front of the Sqish as shown. Tighten elevation bolts.
Connect the meter inline with the receiver and Sqish and set the meter attenuator to the lowest setting then move the Sqish towards the east. When the tone and needle reading increase you are on a satellite. Fine tune by moving left/right then tighten bolts.
To ascertain that you are on the correct satellite you must check signal strength and signal quality on your receiver. Assuming you are using the Sqish to receive Astra 2 (Sky/Freesat) you can get to the signal test menu as follows: Press "services" on the Sky remote, then "4: System setup", then "Signal test". The quality and strength will have a grey bar indicating signal percentage and lock indicator will state "OK". Most receivers will have a similar menu structure.
When turning the dish towards east you may get several tones in succession before a larger gap then a third tone. The first two tones are Eutelsat Hotbird 13E and Astra 1 at 19E. The third is Astra 2 at 28E.
If the meter level tone and needle reading are too high to allow fine tuning use the attenuator pad provided.
